Okay Boldens, Scruggs, Searcys, Morris' and Tuckers. This is where you talk to each other. I have created this space at the direction of my wife Shirley (Shirley Jean Bolden). Child # 14 of the Jefferson and Peoria union.

Check out the family website. The address is boldenscruggs.com. Hope you enjoy all.

Oh, the reunion is July 27 - 29, 2007 here in Norwalk, Connecticut. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you.

Blessings Family!!!

I love you all and am very excited about seeing you this year!
There is so much going on up here in the Northeast -- springlike weather for starters, YeVette and Hubert are proud parents of a new baby boy (I'm really saying that I'M THE PROUD GRANDMOTHER OF A NEW BABY BOY), Allean sang "I Am A Living Testimony" at Watch-Night Service and blessed the house -- Christmas Eve was FANTASTIC at Joyce Ella's (smile Auntie-Mom)and Al's in Bridgeport, CT; Darrick SHOWED UP -- YAYYY!! But -- NO CLEVESTER! LOLOLOL! We had a great time and the Lee and Blanding Family were outstanding hosts!
Daddy Melvyn's Mom had another birthday in November (23rd); Phillip Charles had his 17th birthday November 22nd, Matthew 14 on December 6, Darrick on December 29th, James Hilliard on December 31st (I hope I got the date right for James), Joyce on December 27th (her birth certificate says 26th, but she's celebrated all her life as the 27th -- did you know that Clevester and Winnie are the same day as well? He's always celebrated June 11 until he got his birth certificate in the mail also which said the 10th); Shirley was October 6, and me - December 7th, 45! Glory!

Happy 98th Birthday Aunt Edna Mae Thomas McFadden (December 25, 1909)!

I pray that everyone has the absolute best year ever, that our sorrows and trials be few and victorious.

Thank God for the Love of Family -- Keep it Moving!!!

Okay Family,

Thanks for blogging -- BUT when you leave a comment, click on "other" unless you already have a google/blogger account (I suppose) and FILL IN YOUR NAME and if you have a webpage you can list it for us to have access to it if you want, then preview your comment and then publish or you can just publish it. If you notice any typos that I've overlooked please email me through "contact us" and we'll get it corrected. Looking forward to a blessed year!

Love,

PS: T. Lindo is Tami, the one asking about December babies is "Joyce" -- HEY, that's an idea Joyce -- One person can keep the BIRTHDAY CALENDAR MONTH for everyone born in THAT particular month -- we must talk about it -- no! Let's BLOG about it!

WHERE WERE YOU THE DAY THAT REVEREND DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. WAS SHOT?

Some was at School if I remember correctly, I vaguely remember them coming home early that day. We went to Granny's (Sis Mae, aka Mary Vivian Thomas) house, I remember folks coming out of their homes weeping and wailing, "MARTIN-LUTHER-KING-BEEN-SHOT-N-KILLED!" It was horrible and sad, so sad, even I cried and I was only a mere 6 years old. Does anyone else remember any details of that day in Rondo, Arkansas? Even at that time we were in "segregated schools". I also remember Granny, Miss Shugg, Sister Lula and Ms. Luzinia (sp.?) all going to the Funeral in Memphis with chairs on the back of a truck, they were all dressed up -- it was sad.

So, with that tidbit, Blessings to you all on this great day in history when the "Martyr" was born, January 15, 1929 read one of King's bio's here: http://www.gale.com/free_resources/bhm/bio/king_m.htm

Until next time, keep it movin' !

OBVIOUSLY the ANONYMOUS person is JOYCE ELLA -- Phyllis Yvette Bolden is December 7, 1961; Marvin Anthony Bolden is December 4, 1963; Matthew Brown-Bolden Joubert is December 6, 1992; Darrick Walker is December 29th, James Hilliard is December 31st (I sure hope I'm not giving out the WRONG date for Uncle James, but I'm 99.9% certain -- there's still room for error); Aunt Edna, December 25th -- Hey Joyce -- check out the calendar, we have one now.

Blessings!

Okay, we need to hear from Atlanta, Georgia; Detroit, Michigan; South Bend, Indiana; Florence, Alabama; Saint Louis, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois; Marianna & Palestine, Arkansas; Little Rock and Pine Bluff & Rondo Arkansas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Cleveland, Ohio; Marshall, Minnesota; Fredricksburg, Virginia; Norwalk and Bridgeport, Connecticut; Washington, DC (yeah, the Kings - Scruggs relatives); Did I leave anybody out?

I am demanding your participation on our wonderful blog!

I KNOW there is something new and good going on in Marshall, Minnesota; South Bend, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; Saint Louis, Missouri; Alabama; Georgia; Detroit, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; Marianna, Arkansas; Palestine, Arkansas; Pine Bluff Arkasas; Memphis, Tennessee; Florida; Kentucky; and every where else I may have missed all of you interesting family members!

Tell us all about it. What Achievements have happened since we last saw some of you? Any new jobs? Has anyone bought a home? Started a business? Adopted a child?

Who has accepted Christ as Lord of their lives? Who has made a radical change in their lives?

Last but not least, "has anyone seen Clevester?"

Write soon!

Love,
Phyllis

Okay ... so let me first apologize for everyone outside of the CT area not blogging to the site as much as we should have. There are no excuses.

That being said, I am blogging now. So, I hope at least I can be spared from the wrath that will ensue come July.

Everything is going well in Chicago. Nicole and I are preparing for the wedding, I am finishing up my third year of medical school, and Nicky is wrapping up her first year of teaching in the Chicago Public School System.

Cousin Ricky Kenny and his fiance, Karen, are set to be married on June 30, 2007. It should be a fun affair, to say the least, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

For Nick and I, our wedding website can be found at theknot.com (http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/view/co_main.aspx?coupleid=3288643708454048),so please visit it if you get a chance.

Can't wait to see everyone in July.

-Cousin Carlos

Reach out and touch someone in the family that you don't normally keep in touch with. Continue to life our family in prayer, thanking God for this wonderful, wonderful family called-THE BOLDENS

Joyce #13 (the 13th born that is), We'll see what DETROIT is going to cook up! I must say that Shirley, Vern, Dee, Joyce, Allean and the Connecticut Crew did an outstanding job, along with Joe, James, Robert, Melvyn, Gala and everyone else. It was just SO GOOD to see my family. I'm happy that everyone was in reasonably good health and new things are happening all the time. All the blessings, accomplishments, milestones and more blessings were just overwhelming! Hallelujah!
Thanks to all of you that came to New Light Missionary Baptist Church for morning Worship. Joe did an outstanding job as the Sunday School Lesson Expositor and Shirley blessed us with a Message from God's Word! Cranbury Park? ALL-RIGHTY-NOW! My Recreation and Parks Committee at City Hall commended me on what a NEAT, FANTASTIC, COMPLIANT family I had and marveled at that picture in The Hour Newspaper (that I wasn't in) of our family and those compliments were received proudly by me! Thanks family! DaJaron, I have that nice picture of your "hand" you wanted me to take with my camera, I miss you kid, you're my new buddy! Little Sedrick -- what a riot you are! Cousin Phyllis loves you very much!! Little Chase -- I can't believe you're running around and talking! Wow! Carlos and Nikki! CONGRATULATIONS! To all the family that didn't make it out here, we missed you and pray God's blessings upone you!

Until we meet again, stay safe, healthy, strong, faithful, loving and kind. I love Ya'll!!!
