Sad Announcement

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Melvyn's mother Mrs. Emma Rumble Lyas whom we affectionately called Cookie Grandma and Mama Lyas.

Mrs. Lyas passed on Sunday May 9, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut from complications of surgery.

She leaves four sons: Peter Lyas of California, the twins - Kenneth (of North Carolina) and Karl Lyas(of Norwalk) and Melvyn Lyas (of Norwalk); she was the last of all her siblings to pass away.

Please keep Melvyn and his brothers along with all their children and grandchildren, and Cookie's nieces and nephews in your prayers.

Funeral Services will be some time later this week after final arrangements are completed. Check http://www.bakerfuneralservices.com/ for information on Tuesday.

Mrs. Lyas also had extended family in North Carolina and the Boston Massachusetts area. She was a lifelong member of the Calvary Baptist Church in South Norwalk. A Church that looked after her all the days of her life, especially her Deacons Vernell and Robert Brandon and Dee Dee Hilliard! She also had many loving neighbors and friends who looked out for her as well because they loved her so much. Please remember her personal nurse, Patti Thompson who labored in love for her this past year.

We will miss Cookie, so pray for us all. Thank you and God bless you.
